SECOND WORKSHOP ON VAT ISSUES ORGANIZED BY THE EU TAIEX AND ITA ON “CHANGE OF PLACE OF SUPPLY OF SERVICES”
In 2010 the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina intensified its cooperation with the Directorate General for Enlargement - Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in order to prepare for harmonisation of the national VAT legislation with the EU and for implementation of other important activities.
As a result of our cooperation there was held a workshop on “Change of place of supply of services in line with the Council Directive 2008/8/EC of 12 February 2008 amending Directive 2006/112/EC”, in the period 27 – 28 October 2010, in Sarajevo. The workshop was attended by the ITA officers who will be responsible either for proposing the amendments on VAT or their enforcement.
This workshop was held by the experts from the EU, Ms. Grethe Christensen from the Ministry of Taxation (Denmark) and Mr. Stephan Foessel from Regional Tax Administration of Bavaria (Germany).
The participants had the opportunity to exchange with the European experts their views on the topic concerned and to learn about the modifications in the European VAT regulations.

VOCATION TRAINING IN VAT
ITA has organised vocational training in VAT for interns in cooperation with the project which is financed by EU. In the last two months, lecturers (interns), who have been monitored by the EU Project VAT Expert, while participating in working groups, have prepared presentations on following topics:
1. Place of supply of services,
2. VAT on Electronically supplied services,
3. VAT taxation in construction activities and special scheme,
4. Proportional deduction and correction of deduction of input VAT tax
Vocational training is an integral part of the Work Plan of the project financed by the Delegation of the European Commission. The Framework of the project includes expert assistance in the area of taxation and customs. Vocational training is held on 30 November 2009 in Regional center of Banja Luka and will be subsequently organised in other ITA Regional centers.
The opening of the seminar was attended by Mrs. Nataša Uljarević, Head of Audit and Control Unit in Tax Sector, Mr. Tomislav Ivanković, Head of Training Unit and Mr. Jesus Gayarre, Team Leader of EU funded project.
More than 30 ITA new employees from Banja Luka Regional Centre attended the mentioned Seminar. After the presentations in all Regional Centers are completed the lecturers will receive diplomas, prepared by the EU Project Experts, which will show their knowledge as trainers.
