ASYCUDA (Automated SYstem for CUstoms DAta) is computerised customs management system. ASYCUDA software is developed by UNCTAD in Geneva according request by member states about statistical data on import/export. System is used in over 80 countries and regions. ASYCUDA system for processing of customs data is used in following european countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia&Hercegovina, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia.

ASYCUDA++ which is used in Bosnia&Hercegovina represents third version of system. Version of the system in Bosnia&Hercegovina is specific because it is functional on three languages (bosnian, croatian and serbian) and two scripts (latin and cyrillic). System is fully operational at inland customs stations and border crossings since 2002 and it is used by internal users (officers of Indirect Taxation Authority) and external users (declarants, audit and inspection authorities).

System configuration is adjusted to needs of Indirect Taxation Authority and providing application of valid customs procedures, customs tariff and legislation needed for finishing of customs procedures. All changes and updates related to system configuration are done by officers of IT Department. IT Department provide technical and user support to all system users in timely manner.

Introduction of ASYCUDA system in Bosnia&Hercegovina enabled: electronic submitting of customs and transit declaration (DTI – Direct Trader Input), use of selectivity in import and export procedures, electronic discharge of transit declarations, automatization of payments for customs duties, accurate statistics, speed up of customs process, facilitate movement of goods and passengers.
